Introduction
At Sweets by Jasmijn, we are serious about your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.
Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us when you:
- Name and contact information (email, phone number)
- Email address for order confirmations and communications
- Phone number for order coordination
- Order details including cake preferences, dates, and special requests
- Payment information processed securely through our payment provider
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process and fulfill your orders
- Communicate with you about your orders and respond to your inquiries
- Improve our services and customer experience
- Comply with legal obligations
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies. We always place necessary cookies, because the website does not work without them. We place cookies for statistics and marketing only with your consent.
You can change your choice at any time through 'Cookie settings' in the footer of the website.
Statistics
Only if you say yes to statistics in the cookie dialog do we measure how the website is used. We do this with PostHog. PostHog processes the data on our behalf and stores it in the European Union (Frankfurt). Without your consent PostHog is not loaded.
- What we measure: the pages you view, clicks on buttons and links, the steps of the order form, your type of device and browser, and your approximate location (country and city). Your IP address is not kept after that. If you are signed in, the statistics belong to your account, without your name or email address.
- What we do not measure: what you type, with one exception: a discount code that was accepted. Your name, email address, phone number and address are not sent to PostHog.
- Recordings: we make screen recordings of the order form, the payment pages and the pages where you are signed in, to find errors. All text and everything you type is made unreadable in them. We make no recordings of the other pages.
- Orders: we count every order in our own business figures (amount, type of order and status), also if you gave no consent. If you gave no consent, that count is kept under the order number and holds no identifier of your browser or device and no account details.
- Retention: we delete recordings after 30 days, and the other statistics after one year at most.
- Withdrawing: change your choice through 'Cookie settings' in the footer of the website. Measuring then stops at once and the PostHog cookie is deleted.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
Your Rights
Under GDPR and applicable data protection laws, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to processing of your data
- Request data portability
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with trusted service providers who assist us in operating our business, only to the extent necessary to provide our services:
- Payment processors (e.g., Mollie) to process your payments securely
- Our email provider (Brevo) to send order messages; it tells us whether an email was delivered and, through a small image pixel, whether it was likely opened
- Hosting and cloud service providers to store and manage our website and data
- PostHog (stored in the European Union) for statistics about how the website is used, only with your consent
- Legal authorities when required by law or to protect our rights and safety
Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Order information is typically retained for 7 years for accounting and legal purposes. When data is no longer needed, we will securely delete or anonymize it.
Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can delete such information.
