Service Description
Sweets by Jasmijn makes custom cakes for birthdays, gender reveals, bento cakes and seasonal celebrations such as Valentine's Day, and sells cake candles and postcards.
Order Process
The ordering process consists of the following steps:
- Send your order request through the website or a message, with date, wish, theme or ideas and budget
- We reply within 48 hours and confirm availability and price
- For a custom cake you confirm the order with a 50% deposit
- We make your cake to order, in our own style
- You pick up your cake in Lekkerkerk on the agreed date and pay the rest
Payment Terms
Payment works as follows:
- Custom cake: a 50% deposit confirms the order. If you order within a week of the pickup date, you pay in full up front.
- You pay the remaining amount at pickup. Cash is fine.
- Cakes you order through the cart on the site are paid in full online right away.
Order Modifications and Changes
We understand that sometimes you may need to make changes to your order. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to modify your order.
You can still change colours and flavours up to 2 weeks before the pickup date.
Cancellation and Refunds
You can cancel your order up to 2 weeks before the pickup date.
If you cancel after that, the deposit is kept, no exceptions.
Allergen Information and Dietary Disclaimers
Our products may contain or come into contact with common allergens including but not limited to: milk, eggs, wheat, soy, nuts, and other allergens. We use shared equipment and facilities where cross-contamination may occur.
Even if a product is made without a specific allergen, we cannot guarantee that it is completely free from traces of that allergen due to the risk of cross-contamination in our kitchen.
If you or anyone consuming our products has food allergies or dietary restrictions, please inform us when placing your order. Customers with severe allergies assume the risk of consumption. We are not liable for allergic reactions unless proven negligence on our part.
Product Safety and Handling
To ensure the safety and quality of our products, please follow these guidelines:
- Some decorations may be non-edible (such as dowels in tiered cakes, decorative elements, or cake toppers). Please remove these before serving.
- Store cakes in a cool, dry place. Refrigerate if the cake contains perishable fillings. Consume within the recommended timeframe for best quality.
- Handle cakes with care during transport. Keep cakes level and avoid extreme temperatures. We are not responsible for damage that occurs after the product leaves our premises.
- Our products are made fresh to order. For the best quality, consume cakes within a few days of pickup.
Cake Care Instructions
Store and transport your cake following the guidelines below. For cutting: cut the round cake into slabs and then into bars, and avoid pointed wedges.
Sweets by Jasmijn is not responsible for damage to the cake that occurs after pickup if the customer does not follow these guidelines. By picking up your order, you acknowledge that you have received and understood these guidelines.
The guidelines typically include:
- Keep the cake at the recommended temperature (refrigerate if indicated)
- Transport the cake on a flat, stable surface
- Handle with care and avoid tilting or sudden movements
- Store away from direct sunlight and heat sources
- Consume within the recommended timeframe
Pickup
Orders are picked up in Lekkerkerk on the agreed date and time. We do not deliver. If you cannot make the agreed time, contact us as soon as possible to arrange another one.
Once the product has been picked up, responsibility for it passes to the customer. We are not liable for damage, spoilage or problems that occur after pickup.
Pricing Errors and Typographical Mistakes
We strive to ensure accurate pricing on our website. However, errors may occur. We reserve the right to correct any pricing errors, even after an order has been placed. If a pricing error is discovered, we will contact you to confirm the correct price or cancel the order and provide a full refund.
Force Majeure
We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance under these terms which is due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, war, terrorism, labor disputes, or other events of force majeure. In such cases, we will work with you to find a reasonable solution.
Liability Limitations
Sweets by Jasmijn is not liable for any damages resulting from delays, cancellations, or issues beyond our reasonable control. We are focused on making quality products and will work to resolve any issues that arise.
Intellectual Property
All designs, images, and content on our website are the property of Sweets by Jasmijn and are protected by copyright laws. You may not reproduce or use our designs without permission.
Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by Dutch law. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Netherlands.
